Alabama Teenager Dies After Car Crash

James Shirley, a teenager from Center Point, Alabama, died January 27, 2013 from the personal injuries that he sustained during an auto accident two days prior in Birmingham, Alabama.

Shirley was one of four passengers in the Ford Escape driven by a 17 year-old female who sustained minor personal injuries. The other three passengers sustained serious personal injuries during the car accident. The driver drove off Trussville-Clay Road near the 6700 block of Birmingham, collided with a large rock, and then returned to the road. Everyone in the vehicle was taken to the emergency room for treatment. No other vehicles were involved in the auto crash.

The car accident remains under investigation.
