North Carolina Three-Car Accident Sends Three People To The Emergency Room

Two drivers crashed head-on on Highway 1-West in Vale, North Carolina late Thursday night when one of the driver crossed the center dividing line. The impact of the initial car accident sent one car flipping down the road where a third car smashed into it.

The driver of the flipped car was Vale resident Selina Garcia, who had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital emergency room with substantial personal injuries. A man and his 3 year-old son were in the other vehicle involved in the head-on collision. Both were taken to the emergency room to receive medical treatment for minor injuries and were released the next morning.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, that man has been charged with driving with a suspended license. The third driver received medical treatment for minor personal injuries at the scene of the auto accident.

Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the three-car accident and are trying to determine which driver crossed the center line. The accident shut down the highway for several hours as police investigated the scene.
